A Couple of Deep Thoughts

It is the weekend and I like to take this time and do nothing.  However this weekend started with my Orange getting trounced by the Boomer Sooners. So instead I had to pontificate.  I will start with the Cuse.  They came out flat and started 0-10 from 3 pt.  Meanwhile at the half way mark Oklahoma was shooting 67% from the field. That is a recipe for disaster.  The dance ends at 16 for Syracuse this year.  However, look for them to be tough next season with Flynn, Devendorf, Onauke, Jackson, Rautins, and Harris all returning.  That is an imposing senior lineup.

In other depressing news, VCU Men's Basketball coach Anthony Grant took the Alabama job.  That is great news for Coach Grant, not that great for the VCU Rams.  Being a VCU alumni I am upset to see him leave. I thought he had the ability at that school to turn them into a Memphis/Xaiver type of program. Still Coach Grant will do well in the SEC. He will be able to recruit from his native Florida still and compete in the weakest major conference in Men's Basketball.

Lance Armstrong broke his Collarbone. I hope he can go for the Tour De France because I love when Americans beat the French.

The NCAA Tourney contiunes today with UCONN already winning earlier and Nova and Pitt in a battle right now. It is a 2 point game with 12:39 to go.  Either way it is another huge win for the Big East the best conference in College Basketball by a mile.

Thats it for now. Stay tuned for more deep thoughts shortly
